1. Route Map & Transfer

Hankyu Railway connects Osaka (or Kobe) and Arashiyama or Kyoto-Kawaramachi, the city center of Kyoto.

By using Hankyu railway in Kyoto, it is convenient to move between Arashiyama and the downtown area.

You can use any IC cards, Kansai One Pass and Kansai Thru Pass for Hankyu railway.

But you can not use JR pass or Subway & Bus One-Day Pass.

2-2 Visiting Arashiyama by Hankyu Railway

By Hankyu railway in Kyoto, it is convenient for visitors to move between Shijo-Kawaramachi (downtown area) and Arashiyama (the picture above) without a traffic jam.

“Shijo-Kawaramachi” means the place where Shijo street and Kawaramachi street cross.

It is the center of downtown in Kyoto.

«How to get to Arashiyama from Shijo-Kawaramachi (downtown area)» 

Hankyu railway Kyoto-Kawaramachi station is located underground.

From Kyoto-Kawaramachi station, it takes about 20 minutes to get to Arashiyama station.
The fare is ¥240 for an adult.

Please be careful that you can not go to the destination directly.
You need to change trains at Katsura station for Arashiyama.
